Welcome to Richmond
Located near the confluence of the Winooski River and the Huntington River, Richmond is a small but vibrant community. Economically and culturally distinct, Richmond boasts a median home value and household income several tens of thousands of dollars above the state and national average. With easy access to the Green Mountains to its east, and to the rest of the state via I-89 which bisects the town, Richmond offers the perfect combination of bucolic solitude and convenient opportunities for travel, shopping, and entertainment.
Richmond is particularly renowned for its sites of historic interest. Numerous archeological digs in the region have revealed a rich past of thousands of years of human habitation, from pre-historic tribes to the foundation of Richmond itself in 1794. Evidence of more recent history can be seen by the casual resident in the form of the famous Old Round Church, a rare 16-sided meetinghouse erected in the early 19th century and still standing to this day.
